Warriors Sweep Cougars

Boys soccer has successful night

Both the varsity and jv boys soccer teams defeated Canyon High School on Tuesday, February 7th. The jv team won 2-1 and varsity walked away with a 4-0 victory against the Cougars.

“It was a challenging game, but we came out on top,” Blake Dildy, attacking middle, said.

Both of the JV’s goals were scored by Blake, #7, making him the game’s standout performer. Nolan Masker #22, Parker Adkins #4, Matthew Randell #14, and many others also made outstanding plays.

“I enjoy playing soccer because it allows me to be free, clears my thoughts, and just allows me to be myself,” Blake said.

The varsity game was plagued with rain and drizzle, but the team still maintained a shut-out.

“The game went great; it got very intense,” Sawyer Parks, right back, said.

Seb Alvarez #11, Erik Ong #9, and Cody Smith #5 scored one goal each, and Owen Harris #13 made a penalty kick worth a point. Sawyer Parks and Jack Thatcher are also credited with great assists.

“I enjoy soccer because of the friendships and competition,” Sawyer said.
