Holiday music abounds
Our various music programs are spreading holiday cheer by playing spectacular music at several different events this holiday season.
Dec. 6 Choir -7pm, auditorium
Dec. 8 Band-7pm, auditorium
Dec.13 Orchestra-7pm, auditorium
Dec.14 Piano- Before School, learning stairs
Dec.15 Orchestra-Before School, learning stairs
While the after school performances are open to the public, the events on the learning stairs are for students only. Historically, our holiday music has brought a big turnout including parents, teachers, family, and friends from PRMS.
“I have been looking forward to the choir performances for a while now,” Carol Lyles said. “ The sounds of the season coming from their beautiful voices reminds me what Christmas is really about.”
The fine arts department has been working hard to prepare for this holiday season with extra rehearsals and buckling down in class to get work done. Even some art students have been involved by helping make decorations for the stage.
“I just feel like it is important to play our part this holiday season,” one art student said.
Not only are these events amazing to listen to, they bring us closer together.
“Being in the Orchestra and playing this music with my friends, I already feel the Christmas Spirit,” Lauren Mongold, a violinist participating in the orchestra performances said. “I hope we can lift someone’s spirits and send people off for the holidays with good vibes.”
