Band and color guard perform holiday favorites
The band and color guard performed their holiday showcase for parents and friends in the school’s auditorium on Thursday, December 8. Students of the color guard performed a dance to the song, Jingle Bell Rock featuring flags and rifles. The band played holiday songs such as Sleigh Ride and Celtic Carol.
The band’s head director, Mr. Berry, took great care to showcase each of the band’s directors, Mr. Lowe, Mrs. Conner, Mr. Sommer, and Mr. Granado as a way to thank them for their hard work with the band. He also recognized the hard work of the students who placed at band region auditions.
“It was a great honor, and it felt really nice to be put out there,” Alleyne Perez, one of the talented students recognized that night, said.
Additionally, this was Mr. Arroyo’s first year directing the color guard’s Christmas showcase, introducing the parents and school to what is to come this year during winter guard, the “post-football season” fun.
“We have such a great support system at Pieper,” Mr. Arroyo said. “It gives us the tools to display what we’re good at and show off our activity.”
